Catherine is possibly the daughter of Elizabeth, the eldest daughter?

There is a Mary Ann, 25th Dec 1812, but her parents are Thomas & Eleanor CASTLE
Under notes is says very faded.

1824 8th Jan Frederick  son of James & Mary CASTLE. Hernhill, Labourer.

There's one other couple having children baptised, that's John & Phoebe Castle in the 1830s, & one illegitimate daughter of Elizabeth Castle (1820)
Also an Edward & Elizabeth possibly Castle.

Betty

That's marvellous, Betty, I'm very grateful for these confirmations.

I also have a Mary Ann, 1812, plus Edwin & Frederick baptised on the same day in 1824, however Frederick's mother is down as Mary?  Could you check them out please?

Leonard should be Edward, I think,  I have traced him, James jr and Sarah Ann (my gg grandmother) to Sheerness.

Can I trespass on your generosity, and ask if you can see burials for any of the children?  Particularly Henry, as I have just had a GR enquiry regarding him.  If he died young I can rule him out for my contact.

I don't suppose there are any further details on James & Eleanor at their marriage?

Could be. The baptism date was 7th May 1820.

Catherine is possibly the daughter of Elizabeth, the eldest daughter?

In the Sheerness census, I have found Edward married to Eliza (b Queenborough) with children Sarah Eliza c 1843 and Edward J., b 1853.  Don't know if that matches?

(added: he seems to have married in 1845, so Sarah Eliza was born before the marriage.)

Very odd about Edwin & Frederick - I would have assumed they were twins, as there already seem to be one set of twins.

Isn't that great, Joe?  Betty's a star!  I only found your thread because I promised the other chap I'd try and find out what became of "my" Henry Castle.  What's your connection?

I'm even more sure now that Eleanor is the one born in Dover as per IGI, as the age at death matches exactly.  And ... there is a James Castle baptised also in Dover, 1774, on IGI, who could very well be our James.  A much more common name though, so mustn't  go jumping to conclusions ....  :)

Thanks for that - I didn't know what became of Lydia, it's always harder to find the girls when they marry!  Have found her now, so that's another loose end tied.

i believe that john stevens was born around 1794 and he married a Jane.....? (cannot find her surname anywhere) in 1812
