1841/1851 census look up please

would some kind soul look up the the 1841 census for me and find james castle, born 1775, would be aged 66, he was married to eleanor, she was born 1783, would be aged 58.

both where born in herne hill kent.

Don't know if you're still looking for these guys, but they are my 3x great grandparents.  I haven't been able to find them in any census either.  Have you found anything more since posting?

I am not sure where they were born - there is an extracted baptism record on IGI for an Eleanor (Ellenor) Brockman in Dover 1783, which is quite possibly her. 

They seem to have married in Hernhill.  It would be useful if someone could check the Hernhill PRs, as most of the IGI entries for this family are submitted.

That's marvellous, Betty, I'm very grateful for these confirmations.

I also have a Mary Ann, 1812, plus Edwin & Frederick baptised on the same day in 1824, however Frederick's mother is down as Mary?  Could you check them out please?

Leonard should be Edward, I think,  I have traced him, James jr and Sarah Ann (my gg grandmother) to Sheerness.

Can I trespass on your generosity, and ask if you can see burials for any of the children?  Particularly Henry, as I have just had a GR enquiry regarding him.  If he died young I can rule him out for my contact.

I don't suppose there are any further details on James & Eleanor at their marriage?

I can't find a Baptism in Hernhill for James Castle or Elizabeth Brockman, so it looks like the trail ends

Many many thanks, Betty.  I think Eleanor is most likely the Dover baptism.  If James's age at death is accurate (far from sure, I know!), that would make the 1780 baptism in Patrixbourne less likely for him.  Better start looking again!

This matches Edward, who is living with Sarah and her husband in 1841, so is probably right.

The only info on the marriage of James & Eleanor is what I've given.
The only Burials for a Henry are John Henry age 6mths in 1831 & a Henry CASTLES age 18 in 1825 (28th Sep). The age matches, so this could just be a simple mistake with the surname.

There's an Edwin CASTLES buried 28th Sept 1825 age 1yr 9m,(the same as Henry, so a sad day if it's the same family) & a Catherine CASTLES buried 14th May 1820 age 5wks.

I'll look at the other Baptisms for you.
