Lieutenant James Walker
« on: Sunday 10 September 06 12:35 BST (UK) »
I have a big problem trying to trace any history of Lieutenant James Walker of the Royal Navy. He married a widow Sarah Culcheth b. 1785 in 1811 in Liverpool and I am assuming he is of the same age. In 1817 he wrote his Will saying that he was undertaking a voyage to North America and obviously wanted his family catered for and died in 1825 but I know not where or how. In his Will he stated"James Walker of Londonderry, Lieutenant in the Royal Navy" but his family were all born in Liverpool. Sarah is still living in Liverpool after 1825 looked after by her son John Culcheth, a Solicitor.

I have looked at numous Naval lists, Tafalgar and A2A for any mention of him and wondered if anyone could point me in some direction I haven't look at yet!! It is very frustrating.
Many thanks
Janice

Hi Janice
Have you looked in "The Armed Forces"  Topic in the Common Room. There might be something of help to you in The Resources page. Just a suggestion in case you haven't been there ;)
