no notification ?

 i posted a  look up request this , morning, and went back to it this afternoon and i had had a reply, but  no e mail to tell me, i am with msn hotmail , and it has been acting up a bit ,but i know you have had postings about this before,  any idea whats the  matter? and what should i do?  thanks nora T

Hi Nora

Make sure the notify box is ticked next time you post to a subject (you will have to click on additional options to do this) It will stay that way then until you change it.  To start getting notifications for topics you've posted to and are not currently getting notifications for just click on the notify button at the top of the actual posting

thanks ticker i think i understand , do i have to do it every  time: and i never had this trouble before. i did not get a notification of your reply, i had to go looking for it,  i am worried people will think i am ignoring there replies,  i will try what you suggest, and thanks, nora

No you don't have to do it every time Nora.  Once you do it for one posting it will do it for all until you change it deliberately.  You probably lost your settings when they changed the server.

ticker i tried what you said , but i have to tick it every time, because, it wont stay ticked, i have posted another post with all my troubles on it ,so you will no if you read it , regards nora T

Presumably Joe its because you have it set to "notify me of replies" which is intended to email you when someone replies to a post you're watching.  I have noticed that it now sends you an email even when you make the post yourself, which is a bit unnecessary.  Does that make sense?
