Births or Census
« on: Thursday 14 September 06 19:04 BST (UK) »
My dad would like me to trace his mother's family, as she died when he was 18months old i am having great difficulty in doing this. All i know is her name and her father's name and that she was born in Ireland. I have found her marriage cert (she was married in England), which gave her father's name.

Is their a site which list births in Ireland for the years 1917-20, or a 1901 census.

Any help appreciated

Have you looked for her birth in the indexes? As she was born post 1864, it should have been registered. These are available at the Dublin GRO (in person or Roscommon by post) or on film at your local family history centre. (Church of the latter day saints) http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp for your nearest.

Noihing online - you have to go to a microfilm. OF course if her name is common, it could take a while.
