Looking for any census information for Caleb Emerson either in Ireland, England or Scotland he was a Dr had sons called Caleb( b Ireland), Alexander(b Scotland), Wellington and daughter Elizabeth both (B Liverpool) his wife was called Elisabeth Mckie

Hi Pam
Horray yes these are the right family but Iam trying to find the father Caleb Caleb b 1821 is my 2nd greatgrandfather who came to Australia around 1848 his father was supposed to be a surgeon and obviously they moved around. I have had a hard time trying to find his birth  date, place and also his death date. I saw Elizabeth and her daughter in the 1851 cencus and it stated that she was a widow. Any help would be fantastic

Hello the only Caleb Emerson who came up is the one born 1821 Ireland on the 1841 Scotland census.

I guess I will have to look overseas maybe USA there are a few Caleb Emerson's  there. Did you notice if Elizabeth Emerson was a widow on the 1841 census. I assume that their son Wellington died as a child agaon thanks for you help you have aided me in closing in the years to search. If the Caleb you mention in 1776 had children maybe one was theCaleb (iam looking for)

It does not state widow on the 1841 census just says occupation Ind which I take is independant.
I would assume she has no husband at this time.
