WWI Scapa Flow
« on: Friday 22 September 06 14:44 BST (UK) »
I think my Gt Grandfather was in the marines in WWI and fought/was based in Scapa Flow.

I don't know any more than this, other than his name.

Is there any way of finding out which ship he was on or what regiment ?

Grateful for any help, Ta.

Try this website, entering your GrGrandfather's name

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=56 - here's the NA info on what's available for the Marines, most of it will not be online although you could try searching the Catalogue on the NA site (as opposed to documentsonline) with his surname and the department code ADM.
