Mayhews
« on: Saturday 23 September 06 14:54 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for more information on the Mayhews.

I have Percy Mayhew born in Kilburn on 9th Sept.1921. He died in 1990.  He Married Teresa Dorothy Hope in (I think) 1942.

I think Percys' father might have been called Albert but I'm not sure.

Percys' siblings were Albert, Rose, Olive and possibly 8 more.

I hope someone can help please.

Betty

Hi Jennifer,
I haven't got Percys' birth certificate. Percy was my son-in-laws' (Victor) father and I am trying to get information without it costing him money. He did look for the birth certificate and felt he should have had it as he is the eldest, but he couldn't find it unfortunately.
Thanks anyway. It was kind of you to reply to my query.

Regards

Betty

Hi Betty

Take a look at the birth indexes (currently free to view) at http://www.ancestry.co.uk and choose the "." option.

A birth entry in the September or December quarter of 1921 should give his mother's maiden name which might then enable you to look for a likely marriage for the parents in the marriage indexes on the site.
