31 ANS

My Uncle died in WWII while serving in the RAF and the notes i have say his squadron/unit was 31 ANS ~ does anyone know what and where this unit was based.

Don't know what the ANS stands for, but details of 31 Squadron and it's WW2 postings canbe found on the RAF website: http://www.raf.mod.uk/squadrons/h31.html. 

They seem to have spent the war in the Middle East.

ANS is Air Navigation School but I can;t find 31 immediately.

Thought it sounded familiar my dad was there, it was in Canada!

31 ANS Port Albert, Ontario    

The school operated Avro Anson trainers  from 16/11/40 - 17/02/45
