Need to find Elfreide Healey and her family

I am trying to find Elfreide Jeannette T HEALEY and her family, but have had no luck so far.

She was born on 26 January 1898 in Salford, Lancs, and I have her birth record.  It's thought her parents were George E HEALEY and Anna TOMPSON (a Danish lady), but it's not proven.

I can't find the family on the 1901 Census, and it's thought that by 1909 they were in Iowa, U.S.A.

Do you have the birth certificate of Elfriede?
That should give parents names and mothers maiden name.
 Free BMD gived 2 birth entries for Elfriede -but one reference - (think it is just one person transcribed in 2 different ways

names seem possibly family names???

1881 Alfred E is in Salford lancs and unmarried-and his father was visiting him -fathers name Elkanah Healey

1851 shows Alfred Elkanah Healey age 1 with his parents and siblings - one brother is called George frederick Healey age 7 deaf and dumb

Maybe your George E Healey's middle name is Elkanah??

George could be a nephew of Alfred Elkanah Healey??
May be worth checking out the families of Alfred's brothers to see if they had a son called George E

Maybe the Scandanavian connection was a lot further back than the wife of george??

I am doing this work for someone in the States, and as you've guessed, details are probably not accurate, however, I'm informed that they were definitely a Salford family, sooo ......back to the drawing board.

Hi,
Alfred E Healey was from lancs (moved to Middlesex by 1901)
and his father Elkanah was also from Lancs -and lived in Lancs -he was a carriage builder

You never know it may ring some bells.

Hi Suzard!

Had a mooch round, and as far as I can see, the family were never in Salford.  The 1881 Census where Alfred is unmarried with his father Elkanah, is in Islington ?? 

They were all born in Liverpool, but obviously moved to the London area, with the exception of son Randolph, who married Alice Minnie MEEK in 1880 in Prestwich, Lancs and was a Minister of Religion on the 1891 Census.  Ah well - here we go again.

Elkanah is in lancs -Liverpool and little woolton in 1841, 51 61.
There are others of a similar name b. Scotland/Ireland/Rochdale -all living in Lancs

The names are unusual -big coincidence
I'd persuade your friends in the US to get the birth cert of Elfrieda

Maybe worth trying for baptisms in Salford too

Theres a separate birth ref. for the Elfreda in Middlesex, which would fit the 1901 census above -

Elfreda Mary M Healey December 1893 Fulham Vol 1a Page 257

and this Elfreda shows up in the new telephone indexes on ancestry, 1931/2.....

Yep, I too found all those Census records Suz.  When I posted this topic, I vainly hoped that someone just might have access to Salford Baptisms. If it's not going to be the case, then, obviously, my friend will have to buy a certificate.
