Erm, hate to break it to you Goggy - Waterford is not the UK!

I look forward to the answer as I had in-law ancestors there myself - if you come across a Denis RYAN...

Arranroot's.
I did use an obtruse phrasological, and convoluted way of saying "pre 1922".When I checked just now I could see the mistake.
Humble apologie's,you can probably excuse me on the Galloping Senility Syndrome?

In a number of areas there has never been a unified central UK - certainly not in an administrative sense. Each of the 4 countries which combine to form the UK have maintained a certain degree of their own administration and legal systems (although with Wales and for some time ireland the english legal system was forced upon them)
