she was born in Brecknock, Wales on the 1881 cesus her age is 40

Much as I appreciate the work of those dedicated people who transcribe censuses and parish registers etc, either they or the original enumerators make a lousy job of it sometimes.
   While I can understand Llanwrtyd turning into Llamortyd through being misheard or misread by a non-Welsh person, how on earth do Otago and Dunedin become Otaps and Dunediw?
   I guess it adds to the whole puzzle that is family research!
