Richard Peake. Freemason in Liverpool pre 1916
« on: Thursday 28 September 06 16:11 BST (UK) »
I've traced some of my grandfather's history as a Freemason in Ireland thanks to the assistance of the archivist at the Grand Lodge in Ireland. I've learnt he was a member of a Lodge prior to going to work for a few years in Ireland. I'm trying to find out when he joined Lodge No. 1325, English Constitution, which meets in Liverpool. Any advice regarding where I can find a Masonic archivist in England would be most welcome.

I also learnt my grandfather worked for a Liverpool grain merchant. Any ideas on how to find which one would also be appreciated. If I can find a Masonic archivist the information from them may tell me where my grandparents lived but in the meantime are there any directories which would give residents in Liverpool?

Thanks Jeannie.

Do you know if the Lodge has a web site or email address?

Chris

Hi Chris......

There is nothing in the Masonic directory , that gives a website for this Lodge, but I have just "googled" Masonic Lodge 1325 Stanley Liverpool......

Apparently , there are some records in the repository at Liverpool Reference library......

I have found the library staff very helpful, in the past . If a search takes longer than 20-30 minutes , there is usually a small charge , but worth it , if you get the results.........

Website   www.liverpool.gov.uk

I would email them , giving as much info as you can
recoffice.centrallibrary[at]liverpool.gov

They do answer emails in strict order or sometimes they phone .

Good luck

Jeannie
