A fair used to come to Paisley during the first two weeks of August, which locally is called the "Paisley Fair".  It used to take place at St James Park which is not too far from Love Street.

Hi Flora

The other possibility is that there may even have been a fair at "The Fountain Gardens".  This is a park that runs between Love Street and Caledonia Street in Paisley and I think it's been a park for some time.

Hi Cuthie and Caroline, Thanks for replying to post, I have been looking for the Wilson family for a while now,They seemed to have travelled a lot,my grandmothers father was a horse dealer, thats why i was wondering if they travelled from fair to fair, I think the family may have stayed in the Renfrew area early 1900,s. as i seem to remember my grans brother coming to visit when i was small and i think that they stayed in Paisley. Thanks again for your help, i will definately follow the leads you both have given.
