Alan another thought has come to mind.Billy Potters daughter Cecily, who married Thomas Fahey is on the 1938 Electoral roll for garston, and she is living  in Aigburth Road, I am just now looking for the paperwork, I know the number was over 100, but I also know that Aigburth  Road is a very long road. Will try and dig it out..Sheila

Dug out the paper work,  correctiopn Cecily(Potter)Fahey lived  at No 12 Aigburth Rd in 1938, I believe this is the Garston end.It looks like her husband Thomas must be deceased by then thanks Sheila

Alan...not sure, but will try everything I know  for you....I  think the Wmm Potter may have been born in Woolton originally, but wouldnt swear to it. by the way appx? when was he a Union rep.
I have just looked on the family search site. and came across these, but they are not in Garston.1881 census Fred Potter age 10 Wm.94 Buckingham Rd Everton.
Fred Wm Potter age 15 Artist on glass s brother of Wm Plumber
18Admiral St Tox Park
Fred Potter age 18 son of Robert  House builder in liquidation
25 Jolliffe St Tox Park
Fred Potter age  6 son  of Joseph quarryman 23 Quarry St Much Woolton
only Fred Potter I could find on 1901 census was a new born in Bootle...but I will check again because there must be others Sheila

sorry sheila ...may have misled you there,,,evidently in the late 1950`s/60`s at the age of 60 upwards...so was probably born about 1900/10`s...does that help...allan..just checked your research...son of joseph woolton looks a possibility...a lot of woolton families moved to garston as the docks became a hive of industry...woolton is only less than 2 miles away...wifes family moved from woolton to garston same period...allan

oh right ok Alan then, he could be born to a son of the Wiiliam  Potter with the sweetshop, and the Cecily Potter Fahey would be an aunt?...I will see what I can find out.
Another matter of interest is that as I told you in 1901 Mary Laycock's cousin Thos(who married Cecily) and his brother Richard  were staying with Mary at 26 Derby Street, probably working for the season, and Richard Fahey was a joiner also...as in my family my dad was a joiner,  my two brothers wereand guess what I married one as well..ta ta for now Sheila
