linwood Manse is now a private dwelling house. Write to the occupier, linwood manse, old linwood road, linwood, renfrewshire. I feel sure they will be able to provide a photo and info. I was born in linwood during WW2 and the inkerman rows were only ruins. At the time of your relatives early 1900's there were six pits and a brickwork adjacent to inkerman. There is now no trace. The school house is all thats left. A private dwelling as well. oh and a bowling green . Hope this may be of interest and assistance. regards james.
further :-the manse is a good sized detached grey sandstone house in its own grounds, the old church at linwood was a fine building as well and usually only church members or dignitaries were married there. It was normal for the minister to carry out other weddings in the vestry or manse. I dont think there was a church at inkerman although there was an catholic chapel. I think there were four rows . Linwood Heritage Society might have some further info. get the website. there is a book a photographic record of linwood includes inkerman, the author is called I think james winters, his family may have came from inkerman originally I am not sure. He is in the society.
