Tasmania BD&M lookup please - JANE
« on: Monday 16 October 06 04:31 BST (UK) »
Here goes...

I am looking for the children of Sarah, nee HIGHMORE, and Thomas JANE. The family were living in the Launceston area between 1903 and 1910. I believe at least two or three children were born there during these years.

With a smile

Elsie

as Sarah Died in victoria 1953 rego number 10094 age 78
it may be best to get her death certificate on line at the Vic BDM

it should list her children
Ida Maud married a Doolan she died 19070 age 60 reg no 12235
and Elsie May married a McColl died 1973 age 71  - reg no 25486
both dies in Kew Victoria

Horace dies in 1984 rego 21220 - think in gladstone
If you get deathdate we can look up death notice in newspaper and see if mentions sibllings still living in 1984

Hello Flinders.

Thanks for your reply to my query.  :) :)

I have a copy of Sarah's death certificate. Horace and another sister, Myrtle, were born in Victoria and then the family shifted to Tasmania for about seven years. Elsie McColl and Ida Doolan, both nee JANE, were I believe born in Tasmania. Ida was a twin. Her brother's name was Will. It is their birth records that I am trying to trace.

I appreciate your assistance.

Cheers

Elsie Ellen

Looking about 1910 as she was 60 when died 1970

Doesn't Tassie BDM do a 5 year search -

Hi Flinders!

I have not seen the actual marriage certificates of the girls.

I know that Horace and Myrtle were born in Victoria. Elsie, Ida and Will I believe were born near Launceston. Their parents Sarah and Tom had a farm at North Esk between 1903 and 1910. The family then left Tasmania and returned to Eaglehawk in Victoria.

It is details of their births that I am seeking. I understand  that Tasmania has recently released birth details for that time frame. My request is for help to find the birth registration information.

With a smile :) :)

Elsie

yes I realise you want the Tassie Births confirmed

But a marriage certificate for the them should say where born
and i thought Birth prior to 1920 would have been accessibile
