Where else would I find such helpful advice than here.

My friend has thrown me a firework of "if's" and "Buts"

This is what I came up with.
Edward Charles Thomas.
Her dad born 20th April 1928
Death Reg: 0ct 1993.
Age at death 65yrs.
Reg district: Newport.
Inferred County: Glam-Monmouth-Shropshire-Staffordshire.
Reg No.:A28C
Entry Number:60

His father was: Charles Edward Thomas. (always lived in Pill Newport, Mon)

Married to Margaret Grace. I think she maybe born 1895 0ct-Nov-Dec.
(Absolutly not sure of either one person)also born in Newport, Mon.

Can anyone help with this info please?
I think I'm out of my depth.
Many thanks for any help offered.

Hi Franpow,

I think the marriage cert would be useful.

This looks like it:
June quarter 1925
Margaret Grace - spouse's name Thomas*
Newport M  Volume 11a page 550

Tanja  :)

*cross-checking, the groom is indeed Charles E Thomas
Edward Charles' birth was registered as 'Charles E' as well

Hi franpow

Many Welsh I know are called by their middle names (in some families it's a tradition) - and has caused me no end of trouble with one of my families in particular.

The information provided on a registry of death is only as sound as the person giving the information knew it.  Perhaps the family member who registered the death knew he had another name, and thought it was his middle name ???

Don't spose your friend has a copy of her Dad's birth certificate ?

Sadly Wendi , my friend has no certs at all. Her parents divorced , and passed away leaving her with no info , other than names and the cross names mention by middle and christian names you indicated.

I've just attempted to find as much as possable for her.
Thank you both for your help.......
