Clare Williams Born 1893

I am looking for any information for Clare Williams born 1893. Her father was a mining Engineer. I think she came from New Port but this is guess work. She married Thomas Benjamin Jones in Herefordshire in 1914. I am not sure where to look. I have pretty much exhausted all my possibilities. I think the name Clare was unusual in 1893. I cannot find anyone with that name, just Clara. Her Wedding cert said Clare so I assume this is her birth name.
If anyone has any ideas please help me solve this problem.

What are you looking for - her birth record?

Her father name: Robert WILLIAMS and an Engineer
Her mother: Alice (maiden name? from birth of another oif their children perhaps?)

But from another post and from RC: alcrighton( Allan) you do have her on Cemsus - or have you since discarded this family?

Note that Clare is Clara again - there are no Clare Williams in the 1901 census so it looks as though the name Clare was not common until some years later.  I think this indicates that your ancestor's name was probably Clara even if she was known as Clare in the family.  Also Roselyn is recorded as Rosalind.

I haven't tried to find Nantymoel or Nanty Moel on the map yet but it appears to be written as one word on page 53 where most of the family is listed and as two words on page 54 as the birthplace of Elsie.  It might be worth trying to find the place at www.multimap.com .

This looks like the same family in the 1891 census - before Clare/Clara was born (Living at the same address!):

When did Robert & Alice marry?
Is it at all possible Clare/Clara was not his natural daughter but Alice's and therefore her name is registered other than as WILLIAMS.

Thanks so much for the info. Yes, I am looking for the birth record so I can get the B Cert
I have no info about the family at all so when Alice Married I haven't a clue.
I shall send for the Birth Cert . As I said Clare, Clara confusing. I only know her by Clare, but maybe Clara became Clare, so I am rather confused. I have not discarded any info, it was lost in a CD which I cannot find.
