« on: Thursday 26 October 06 22:56 BST (UK) »
I am new to this game & am hoping someone could help me.  I am looking for further information on the Pearson's of Randalstown.  I know my GGF was Samuel who m. Ellen Percy in 1870.  Samuel had at least 3 brothers - George, Henry & David but I know very little about them or their families or their father Henry.  Could anyone advise   ???

Passed through Randalstown on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Had a quick look at IGI which is on Mormon website (familysearch.org) and there are lots of Pearsons in Co. Antrim.

Samuel Pearson & Ellen Percy had:
1. Mary Ellen 2 Apr.1871 Co.Antrim
2. Margaret 29 Apr.1875 Ireland
3. Matilda 28 Apr.1873 Ireland
4. Henry 17 May 1879 Aghadlongham, Antrim.

The last entry gives you the name of a townland to search further- Randalstown is probably the nearest village and/or district for civil registration.

Also in Randalstown dist., David Pearson & Margaret Fulton had: David (1864), Mary Jane (1866), Samuel (1869), Nancy (1872).

And, John Pearson & Margaret McAteer had: Isabella (1867).

If you search through the records yourself you might find more information. Good luck.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

1888 Bassett Directory has a Hy. Pearson noted under Farmers and Residents of Randalstown.  He lived at Creeve, Staffordstown. A possibility for the Henry you mentioned. A Henry is recorded in Griffiths Valuation, also at Creeve. In the same parish, Duneane, is a David of Tamnaderry townland and a David of Staffordstown (these entries could be for one person).
