Age at death
« on: Monday 30 October 06 08:17 GMT (UK) »
What year did they start recording age at death in the registers, i notice some early records don't show it, but later ones do, . Also, if one is sure of the details, is it ok to just use the page & volume ref  , as source details, or should one always obtain certs ?.                                               bodger

Age at death was given in the indexes from the Mar quarter of 1866 onwards.

It is entirely up to you if you wish to get certificates for events you are certain about - purely a matter of personal preference (and maybe economics!  ;) )
