Royal scots fusiliers photos?
« on: Friday 03 November 06 15:30 GMT (UK) »

Does anyone know where I could look at any photos of the Royal scots fusiliers  21st regiment 2nd battalion around 1900?
I thought there may be some photos on the net?
Thanks
 Sue

If the 1900 date is right and he served around the time of the Boer War, then the uniform worn then was very different from the one worn in WW1. In 1900 the uniform at home was still the red tunic with blue collars and cuffs.  But when serving anywhere tropical (including South Africa), it was the lightweight khaki drill.

This is a good link - http://www.armynavyairforce.co.uk/royal_scots_fusiliers.htm

The 'WW1' uniform was introduced c1904 and worn alongside the red tunic until WW1 (for most regiments). Khaki drill was still worn overseas.
