Illegible addresses
« on: Friday 03 November 06 15:45 GMT (UK) »
I have the following addresses, if you can call them that, on a marriage certificate of 1857 in the Parish of St. Mary, Nottingham.

Can anyone read the handwriting please?

Hope the image has attached ok.

Just looked at a street map of Nottingham and there is still a Warser Gate. No mention of a Court street. Not a very detailed map, though.

Looks like either 'Warser' or 'Warder' Gate and I think the other is 'Count' Street.

Definitely Warser Gate.  That is in Lace Market area, still there today. Runs between Fletcher Gate and Stoney Street.

If the other one is Court Street, it is also still there, in the Hyson Green area, off Radford Road.

Can't recall a Count Street, can't find one on either an old map or current map.
