Found Thomas on the 1891 age 30 lodger at 4 Baker Street, Wigan Labourer for Canal Company born Preston

There are two Thomas Berry's on the 1901 in Preston one 43 married with no children and the other 43 married with a child Thomas age 4. Could either of those be the right one's?

hi Aggiebag wash,
I am still looking for Thomas Berry please could you post the details of both that lived in preston, in 1901 I will see how close it is to my other Berry's that lived in preston.
I then ask the question how do you track them forward till today or wait untill 1911 census comes out?

Dan

If you PM me your email address I will send you the images. I am still not sure if they are the right ones as on the 1901 there is an age discrepancy. There are 4 Thomas Berry's living in Lancashire and born in Preston but their birthdates are 2 in 1858, 1 in 1864 and 1 in 1865.

As for tracing the family in the 20th century it is slow and labourious. You could start looking for birth, marriages and deaths on Ancestry and if you send for the certificates it will add more details of parentage, addresses etc.

hi Margaret,
many thanks for your reply it Will intesting to see how close all my Berry's are due to the info I all ready have 1891 Elizabeth Berry 62 (widow) living with son William 40 years at 26 Meadow Street Preston William  was a cotton weaver.
1901 Walter with wife Eleanor Walter was 39 and wife was a year younger but note that William and Elizabeth had move in with them in 1901, and Walter had his own family too,
but this why I wanted to find out about Thomas Berry born 1864/65 who in 1881 was an appr.
upholsterer living at family home home 97 peel street Preston also what happen to John Berry born 1860 who was again at home in 1881 but was a telegraph Clerk.
