Ireland to Newzealand 1919

Hi Looking for info on Peter Michael Butler  DOB 1901  from Whiteabbey Co Antrim he joined the Mercantile Marines left ship and landed in Wellington 1919 Married Doris Cooper in 1930  I think he was a local politician died 1994? any information on  siblings there was 8 or 9 of them one was my G.F. who was killed 1914 WW1 . or even if  Peter had children.
Any information would be great.

I did a google search putting in Peter Michael Butler + NZ and came up with a Biography for him from the Dictionary of New Zealand, I am sure this will answer some of your questions. This will at least give you some insight to Peter and his life in the Seaman Union.

Thank you so much  I got onto the Dict. of N.Z sight and printed of the speech it's great I may be able to buy his biography here in Scotland.
