Would anybody know why Tebworth doesn't appear in any of the censuses? At least, 1851, 1861, 1871 & 1881...I gave up after that. Nobody in Tebworth is listed. Or listed as living in Tebworth. What's up with that???

Hi China

Just using 1861 for an example,
Tebworth comes under the Civil Parish of Chalgrave, so if you search for someone in CP Chalgrave, Town: Tebworth  - I am looking at a page of 50 people all noted as born Tebworth  and that's just the first page...I get the same result if I just search on Town of birth Tebworth.

Are you a subscribed  member or just registered?

Ahhh, got it now. Thanks Ambly, much appreciate the insight. The census page actually calls the place "Tebworth in Chalgrave".

I'm a subscriber to Ancestry and can make it do a couple of tricks, but that's a new one for me.
