John  was listed  as  a  shoemaker.

There is a John Munro (indexed Munroe) in the 1841 Census in Blantyre, Lanark. He shows  b. Scotland c. 1796 and is a shoemaker. All the entries show as born outside of the County:

John Munroe, 45, shoemaker b. Scotland
Barbara Allan, 40

The rest of the family are showing as MUNSIE

Margt, 15, Cotton P L W
John, 10
Peter, 7
William, 4
Andrew, 2

The family I posted earlier I don't think are who you are looking for. I just found this on IGI:

JOHN MONRO  Marriages: Spouse:  BARBARA ALLAN
Marriage:  24 OCT 1818  Abbey (Paisley), Renfrew, Scotland

If you have any other names to help with the searches (wife/children and ages), I'll have another look.

Regards.

I'm  wondering  ................it  could be  the  same  person  if   he  remarried  in  1847   Maybe  Barbara  had  died.Only  children  I  have  so  far  are  margaret  born  about  1847  and  christina  born  about  1850.

From the free searches on SP, there is a death entry showing in Glasgow City post 1855 for a Barbara Munro/Allan with a birth year of 1796.
