William Hart - St. Mary's Nottingham
« on: Saturday 11 November 06 14:41 GMT (UK) »
I'm interested in finding out who witnessed the marriage of William Hart and Matilda Roberts at St. Mary's church, Nottingham on the 30th December 1818.

They had two children born in Nottingham, John who was baptised on the 10th June 1822 and Mary who was baptised on the 17th November 1823.  Can anyone tell me what William Hart's occupation was at this time and on what street he was living?

Hi

There is a William Hart Watch maker Pelham St in Nottm Directory 1815. This may or may not be yours.

I suppose you need a look up of the marriage.

Thanks,
It is a possibility that this is the William Hart I'm looking for.  My William Hart was born in Leicester in 1795 and served in the Royal Marines between June 1811 and June 1813. I don't know when he moved to Nottingham. He was a witness to the marriage of his brother John to Mary Timson at St. Margaret's church, Leicester in 1817. However, I do know that by 1829 he had moved back to Leicester.  His occupation is recorded as a Framework knitter in the parish records for St. Margaret's.
