I am looking for the family of George King b c 1840 in Hinckley  - see modified message below for details from 1851. i do have all the census info from 1851 - 1901

Have you got any other info on him, like occupation and are you sure he was born in Hinckley in 1841.

hi Linda,
From 1871 he was in Nottingham as a frame work knitter. i believe he married an Annie born in Retford from the census.
I have found a reference from 1837 online to a George King b 1841 Hinckley dec ref XX 67
i did order a pile of certificates last night after I had posted so maybe wait a fortnight and I can pass on more details to you ( i think I ordered his!)

All the census info says hinckley as place of birth.

Hi folks - have some new info on George KING b 1840 in Hinckley, as were his siblings, Mary b 1837 and Solomon b 1838 all b Hinckley
His parents were James KING b 1817 Hinckley and Ann b 1818 Hinckley.
In the 1851 census they were at 29 Garden Street.

Basically I am looking for:
First choice:
1841 census info for the family in Hinckley to see if there are any other children

 the birth/baptisms of children
George (my gg grandfather) b Hinckley 1840 according to marriage cert - aged 24 in 1864.
siblings:
mary b c 1837
solomon b c 1838
joseph/james b c 1843
there may also be a daughter Elizabeth but i am not sure of this

James' marriage to Ann ? when?
James birth/ baptism around 1817 hinckley

Any of the above would be great - although some of these appear to be out of the time frame that you have given.

Ps - George King's daughter Annie Eliza married a Shadrach Wood b Leicester in 1862 - his father was Thomas Wood and mother Emma Roe. Where are your Woods from?

Hi Ruth, my Woods are all from Bristol, apart from me.

I am going to try to go to the library tomorrow morning.

All the details should be there as ST Marys goes back to 1554 and Holy Trinity only goes back to 1843 cos thats when it was opened(i think). So almost certainly St Marys.

But there is also Hinckley Independant 1767 - 1836 and Presbyterian 1706 - 1837. So i will try St Marys first and if not look at the others.

Just depends if there is a Microfiche reader available.

Let you know sunday as i play cricket at 12 tomorrow so won't be on the pc at all.
