The photo's are great, the group one could be part of HQ Coy, as you have a Pioneer, some drummers, and a cook. All would have been in HQ Coy.

fantastic pictures,jack ashton looks like hes in his early to mid thirties??mack
military history,mainly ww1,manchester pals battalions,tyneside irish +tyneside scottish brigades,leeds,liverpool,accrington,birmingham,hull,barnsley,swansea and salford pals.

Can anyone tell us where/how we can the date of birth for this John (Jack) Ashton?  We're now assuming this is the chap in the photo.
