Where is Drummond?
« on: Sunday 03 December 06 10:52 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for information on Mary Anne Johnson who was married in Victoria, Australia in 1882. On that record it says her birthplace was Drummond?
Does anybody know where that could be?
Thanks.

Might be Scottish? but there is a Drummond near Limavady (formerly Newtonlimavady), County Londonderry, Ireland (now Northern Ireland. Here Johnson is most commonly spelt Johnston.
Try searching 'Drummond' under placename search on familysearch.org to find other Drummonds.

There are also several possibles in both Scotland and England .... Do you have anything which could help narrow it down ?

There were 48 Mary Johnson's listed on Scotlands people born between 1855 and 1865 .... although quite a few had Mary Ann as their name none had Drummond in their birthplace nor were there any in Stirlingshire where you get most occurrences of Drummond

srp123au- more details might narrow down the place. Does the Australian marriage certificate give the names of her mother and father? Also, do Australian death certificates not give names of both parents?
