Question about negatives
« on: Sunday 03 December 06 20:54 GMT (UK) »
Hi everybody, I've just come across a big batch of negatives, probably from the 1930s or so. They are visibly dusty and likely loaded with grime. How can I clean them? Can I wash them? How about drying?

Can't wait to see what's on them!!!

Cheers,
China

Hi China - The way to go is a lint free cloth and isopropanol (also known as isopropyl) alcohol as it will will not leave residue/streaks as for example simple tap water would. Google came up with a few sites you may find interesting.

Thanks gippeswyc, I'll give it a try. If the negs are any good you'll be seeing them here :)
