Can any one help to look at the 1871 census for Brill Bucks 8)looking for Eliza Gough( Goff ) beleived to be in service in that area,perhaps living in high street  ???ACKY

I can't see an Eliza Gough in Brill - do you have any more info on her - place and year of birth, that would help?

A mystery?my wifes gmother Minnie Gough wasborn inBrill 1872 her mother ElizaGough born Cranfield BedsMinie s father unknown.1871 census shows that eliza sister Mary annwas married to Wiliam Tipping living at church st so we was thinking did Eliza have Minnie at her sisters housethen came back to cranfield ,never went back to Brill,the family tale is that she was in service that way,the strangething is that one of Minnie names is Offen,not a family name ACKY

Eliza Goff, dau, unmarr, 20, Lacemaker, born Cranfield
Emma Goff, dau, unmarr, 18, ditto, ditto
Charles, son, 10, Scholar, ditto
Mary A, dau, 9, Lacemaker, ditto


I can see both Elizas on the 61 census but there are inconsistencies with the ages - birth year for 1. is 1845 and 2. 1853 - is there an age for Eliza on the birth certificate for Minnie that might narrow it down?

Hi Karen Thanks for info ,1881census RG/ 1636 gives Eliza born 1851abt still a mystery abt Minnie tho,Idont think we will ever find out ,no father on Minnie s birth certificateso going around in circles  .Thanks again  ACKY
