It is to be remembered that a "Tynemouth" BMD registration, only means the BMD was registered "with" Tynemouth Registration District.
This district covered a wide area, including many towns and villages beyond Tynemouth town,
The list of Tynemouth's sub-district offices will give a flavour of ithe expanse of it's territory...
*Blyth,
*Cramlington
*Earsdon ( covering Seaton Delaval etc)
*Whitley ( old name for Whitley Bay)
*Longbenton ( nearly into Newcastle City, including Walker)
*Wallsend ( again nearly into Newcastle... and including Willington Quay)
* North Shields.
* and more than one in Tynemouth itself.
All the above places had more than it's fair share of coal pits, but I do not think there was any iron ore operations.
