Hiya McCartie,

I had a look for people named McCartie in Griffith's Valuation of Co. Cork which took place in the early 1850s. The name McCarty appeared but no McCartie. There would be no harm looking at McCarthy too.

Have you any information about your ancestor from the Metropolitan Police staff records?

All the Best with your research,

Chris
