Hi,

It's me again. I was just reading about the names you have been researching and the name Flockhart was there. I know that William Unger married an Isabella Flockhart. Does this mean anything to you???

I think you are researching part of my family.

Look forward to your reply.

 ??? :)

Hi Helen,

You said your husband was the grandson of William Unger.
I was just wondering because I am the great-Grandaughter of William and I am 52 years old.

Which part of the family is your husband from? Is he a descendent of Isabella? Do you mind me asking his name for the family free.

My name is Sue and my Grandma was Margaret (daughter of William & Isabella) and Margaret's eldest daughter was Elsie who was my Mum.

I would appreciate any other information you may have about the family.

My Aunt said when William came to Liverpool he worked on the new sandstone Anglican Liverpool Cathedral, but I don't know what he did.

If I find any more information I will get in touch with you again.

Thanks very much for your time.

Sue

Hello,  I am a new member of Rootschat and I think that I belong to your Williams family.  My grandfather was William Williams, brother of Sarah Williams  (both children of Lewis and Mary Ann).  I  received the birth certs for William and Sarah two days ago.  Both born in Garnfach, William in Rosser's Houses and Sarah, Top of Garnfach.    William was born  in July 1873 and, as you know, Sarah, July 1877.  My grandfather, William was my mother's father.  William moved to Ramsgate, Kent around the time that my mother was two and he died in Ramsgate in 1938.

Hi Rosemary

Sorry I've not replied earlier, but I've been away all week.  Your post is interesting as I've never come across a William in the family before.  In all the information I have, the only child older than Sarah is possibly a sister called Ann born in 1873 or so. Do you know of any reason why William does not appear with the family, especially during the voyages to America, or on any of the censuses?

Hi, Helen,

Sorry for late reply, too.   Have been busy having work done at home and did not get online.
I will give you what I have on my family and we can see if anything matches at all.I will give you what I had to go on when I started.  My family were very split and my mother told me very little.  My grandfather was William Williams, was married twice, his first marriage to Sarah Jane Prosser (1897 in the Siloam chapel, Crickhowell).  His father is on the cert as Lewis Williams, miner, living in Brynmawr.  William is found again on 1901 census, living with Sarah Jane and their first child, Lilian, at 16 Tillery Rd, Abertillery, Monmouthshire. (I know that this is definitely my grandfather because one of the only things that my mother told me was that William was married twice, the names of the children from the first marriage and that he was a miner, then a publican, then a miner again!).The next bit of info I have is Sarah Jane's sad early death, aged 30 years, in 1907.  William then married my grandma, Janet Tillings in 1909.  By then he had 3 daughters.
