Heath: Abraham and Drusilla
« on: Sunday 24 December 06 09:47 GMT (UK) »
Hello all

I am looking for information on the above couple who, I believe, emigrated to Brisbane between 1881 and 1885. Drusilla's maiden name was Wardle and they originate from the Staffs/Worcs area.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Jean

Many thanks to Trish and Ozzy Bob

Nutty - yes I have the marriage thanks. I was looking for info post their emigration.

I have just been following through the information you kindly sent me. Are these records online anywhere are are they from the Queensland CD ROM?

I have found the burial information for Abraham and Drusilla Heath and in the same grave in Toowong Cemetery there is:

William Harold Heath buried 02/01/1998 age 83 years; and
Stanley Bernard Heath buried 26/03/1925 age 6 years

I wondered if there was anywhere I could check for their births?

Many thanks

Jean

Hi Jean

The BDM data is from CDs - there is nothing online for Qld. If you are in Australia your local LDS centre and most state libraries / gen societies etc would have a copy of the Qld BDM fiche. Births are available to 1919 (I think), marriages to 1939 and deaths to 1964 - so you might just get your births on the fiche.

Do you have access to a state library - if your folks are buried at Toowong, there is probably a funeral notice in the Courier Mail - this would give family names & may help to find living descendants (via the white pages) if you are interested in same. (Unfortunately the online CM index  (part of the Ryerson Index) only starts in 2000)
