Hi Bob
For Henry KABLE c1766-1846 it firstly says see CABELL - so there must be a little confusion re the spelling. So then we have
CABELL/KABLE Henry c.1766 - 1846
Sentenced to death at Thetford Norfolk 14 Mar 1783 with his father Henry, both of Mendham Suffolk and Abraham Carman of Laxfield Suffolk, for breaking into a house and "stripping" it of everything moveable.
The younger Henry escaped and was captured 27th February at Yoxford. Both the older men were hanged on 5 April. Henry Kable the younger was reprieved to transportation for 7 years. He went to the hulk
Dunkirk on 7 Oct 1786 - age given as 20
While in Gaol he met Susannah Holmes and they had a son Henry Holmes/Henry Kable Jnr.
Eventually all three ended up on the hulk
Dunkirk and embarked together on
Friendship on 11 Mar 1787. At the Cape of Good Hope the women & babe were removed to the
Charlotte for the rest of the voyage to Australia.
He married Susannah at Sydney Cove 10 Feb 1788. In July he sued Duncan Sinclair, the master of the
Alexander who lost some of the contents of a parcel given to Henry and Susannah by well wishers before the fleet sailed. He was awarded damages of 15 pounds.
He kept out of trouble and was a watchman by 1791. In Jan 1794 he was granted 30 acres at Petersham. He began a career of business and investments and dealings operating the
Ramping Horn at Sydney in 1798 and appointed Chief Constable in 1799 (demoted in 1802 for misbehaviour).
By Mid 1800 he was ON stores at Petersham as was his wife 6 children and 3 men. He had 55 acres sown in wheat, 40 ready for maize and 100 pigs 7 goats 3 mares and a foal (Wow - he did well

)
By 1806 he had 215 acres - 30 acres in orchard and garden the rest pasture for 10 horses, 17 cattle 4 oxen, 260 sheep and 20 hogs. He employed 5 convicts & with himself wife and 9 children all were OFF stores.
In 1812 John Hunter had harsh words to say about him - related to his business interests.
He supported the group opposed to Gov Bligh. He became a ship owner with James Underwood & entered the sealing industry and the import and sale of retail goods. His land holdings increased but he did not continue to take a leading part in the commercial life of the Colony, handing most of his concerns to his son Henry. Kable died 16 Mar 1846 at Windsor, age given as 84. Susannah had died in 1825.
Hope some of that is useful. There is information on son Henry and wife Susannah as well (being also 1st fleeters). I will pm this information a little later - let me know if you would like it as well. Just to mention
They had in total 11 children - 4 died in infancy
