Passenger lists
« on: Friday 29 December 06 22:44 GMT (UK) »
Looking for help to clarify when my g grandmother emigrated from the UK to Quebec. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge (so far) as to the year she may have arrived but the range is between 1880 and the early 90s. Any suggestions about accessing passenger lists would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a link to the National Archives of Canada Immigration 1865 - 1922. It is a slow process, as they have not been transcribed.

The only information I have is the passenger (family) names and the approximate date of arrival (either Jan or Feb 1889).  Is there a way to search with just this little bit of information? I believe the family departed from Glasgow, Scotland.

Thanks.

I had not realised these images were now online

I have started searching, tthough in the case of one family , could be any time from 1911 to 1919
The others were before 1911 Census, so I do have a year

I just found this site, so all might want to try.

http://www.ancestorsonboard.com/

At least if you find the year, you can then narrow it down a bit.

Hi

Please note that as yet that site has only 1890-1899 online

findmypast are digitising the UK National Archive outbound passenger lists

If it works will be better than searching those lists mentioned earlier in this thread. Search  about 40 or 50 ships looking for Edwin Edwards!

Does anyone know when they will have all the outbound passenger lists transcribed? Or at least for time periods after 1900?
