Do you know Ebenezer Chick born 1873 ??

I am looking for information on the Chick family who came from the London ( South Hackney ) and the Portsea, Portsmouth area. Ebenezer's  father was John who was born in 1842 and his father was william born 1815.
Does this mean anything to you ? if it does please contact me.

Are you looking for descendants of Ebenezer Chick? If you haven't already, I'd suggest adding the name to the surname interest table at http://surname.rootschat.com/ - there are some other Rootschat folks also researching this surname.

1901 census, Tottenham, shows Ebenezer Chick, 28, an estate agent, his wife Julia E, also 28, and daughter Elsie F, aged 2.

freebmd.rootsweb.com shows what is presumably his birth - Dec 1872 quarter in Hackney, his marriage in 1897 to Julia Elizabeth Goymer, and the registration of his daughter's birth - Elsie Florence in Edmonton (correct registration district for Tottenham, I believe)

www.historicaldirectories.org shows he was living at 113 Warwick Road in North London around 1912/1913

Going back, you can see Ebenezer's parents, John and Ellen in the 1881 census at www.familysearch.org

In 1871 they are also in Hackney:

17 Romsey Terrace
John Chick, 29, Oilman Master, b. Clerkenwell
Ellen, 30, wife b. Portsea, Hants
John Henry, 4, son, b. South Hackney
Phoebe Elizabeth, 2, dau, b. South Hackney

possibly the marriage on freeBMD of John Chick and Ellen Riddout in 1866, Clerkenwell

Hi again Richsea,

Just had a look at the IGI, you may already be aware of this:

William Henry Chick

Birth 15th. February 1815
Christened.  27th. July 1832

St. Marys, Portsea, Hampshire

Parents: Joseph and Elizabeth Chick

There is also this marriage, but obviously it will all have to be
verified.

Joseph Chick married Elizabeth Malpes
31st. July 1803, St. Marys, Portsea
