« on: Sunday 31 December 06 17:36 GMT (UK) »
Could some kind person have a look to see if they can find me a JOHN CHAMBERS, maybe listed as a farmer, living in Stamford, On 4th March 1841, his daughter Sarah Chambers married Robert Exton, would this mean that she married before the census night. I have address on the wedding certificate as St Lenard st,St George, or at least I think that is what is says.   any help gratefully received.   from Eilleen

Have just checked John Chambers would not have his daughter living with him ,because she was by now Mrs Exton, and living at Brazen Nose Lane. Stamford, unless he was living with the newly married couple :-\

Robert (20) and Sarah (20) EXTON were living with a Mary CHAMBERS (40) in St Leonard's St ... perhaps John had already died but the marriage cert didn't record it ... will check for a burial.

EDIT:

There was a John CHAMBERS buried St Georges, 16 April 1837 age 63.

There was one buried Stamford All Saints aged 46 in 1846, but I believe him to be the one living in that parish in 1841 with wife Elizabeth.  EDIT: Probably not, he was still there in 1851

See above for additions.

No, only Mary, Robert and Sarah, no one else.

Mary buried at Stamford St G, 23 Dec 1850 age 53.

Oh, I see Sarah's mum was Ann ... she may have been buried 18 Feb 1838 age 62 at SStG ... so who was Mary?

Flipping heck, fancy having children for 18yrs of your life,  Eilleen.
on the plus side, it gives me much more to investigate :)

I went on your link www.familysearch. org,   but after putting in Sarah Chambers 1818, I did not find her, I had a go with the Richard Chambers 1811, and found him,   I still have a feeling Sarah's mum will turn out to be this Mary Chambers you found previously.  :-\

You'll find it easier to do your searching here (as you can specify a county)

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true

or here (you can specify a parish)

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm#PageTitle

NB: Some of theCHAMBERS kids were bap at St Johns and others at All Saints.
