I have tried those two middle letters as gg/ff/pp/ss/jj/ but nothing seems to work when I search other places using the resultant name, Oonagh - it really has me beat...... dee   ::)

How about "LEOZZARD" - the nearest name to that that I can think of is "GOZZARD" or "GAZZARD".

Another added to my list, thanks Prue. I have been concentrating on names that look French as I suspect that Isabella was French. Joseph, her husband, was born in France according to the 1841 and 1851 Censuses, as well as family oral history. The nearest French name I have found so far is Lecossois - but I can't see that in the name on the certificate.........dee
