BARROW family 1800s
« on: Monday 08 January 07 18:31 GMT (UK) »
I have birth and marriage certicates for Arthur Walter Barrow who married Mary Wallser in 1895. HE was born in 1875 - anyone find any info about HIS parents whose names were Joseph and Mary (nee Eustache) and their respective parents?

ANY pointers would be most grateful.

Phil

Hi there - thanks for posting - i'm still in the early days. I think it is MARIE Eustache. Who knows if this is the same person? I don't know her DOB.

Because I don't their DOBs or if they stayed, I'm stuck. I think there is a Mary Barrow in the 1901 census.....no idea about brothers although she seems to be living with another Joseph who is 2 years old!!!

Many thanks for this - this confirms what i found on the census - I wondered if i'd missed anything - really odd - a colleage of my dad's cousin obtained the birth and marriage certs for Arthur Walter Barrow (son of Joseph and Mary Barrow) but I don't know how he managed to trace a DOB for him....they (the family) seem to flit between Plymouth and Jersey. My Dad's dad (Arthur's son) was born in 1902 so I just missed the census.......aaargh

thanks for your help - who do i need to contact in Jersey, do you know?

Well, I assume I can delve further by a contact point in Jersey itself?

I cannot, for instance ORDER BMD certs or search the Births, Marriages, Deaths Index for Channel Islands (or can I..?)......I'd be glad if I was wrong!
