missing birth details

I am trying to find the birth details of my mother her details are:
Doris Louisa Chapman born approx 1899 in Birmingham her parents names were

Mother Catherine McMahon

Father George Thomas Chapman

I do hope there is someone who will be able to help

This is all new to me as I have just joined rootschat

Welcome to Rootschat.Ancestry have the full birth indexes here:
 http://content.ancestry.co.uk/iexec/?htx=List&dbid=8964&offerid=0%3a7858%3a0
You will have to search manually and I would suggest starting in 1897.
The index is the unique number given by the General Records Office for the  birth during that quarter.You can then send for her birth cert. online (£7).
