Ann Jopson - 1885 Death

Greetings from Tassie,

I'm seeking some help in getting more info from the England & Wales BMD index. It's my great-great Grandmother I am seeking more info about. I have 1 record of her death from Ancestry.co.uk. She was born in 1797, Leyland, Lancashire. The extract I have has an Ann Jopson, born about 1795, year of registration, 1885, in the quarter of Jan-Feb-Mar. She died age 90 in the district of Chelmsford, Essex, Volume 4a & page 222. I guess what I'm asking is - how can I be sure this is really my ancestor & can anyone lend assistance in me being able to access or access for me, more info from her death?

If you can trace her from Lancs thru the census years to Essex - yes. Have you tried the free search on the 1881 census ?

Assume thats a married name ?

Otherwise an investment of £7.00 will reveal the informants name and may identify them as a recognisable relation .... ?

This 1881 record would seem to say its not your lady ..

Yes I think a 7 pound (whatever that is in Aussie $'s) will be a worthy investment, when I find the right Ann Jopson & yes it is a married name. Maiden name was Beardsworth.
