How strange, I have been looking for the Forge Hammer Inn, but mine is suppose to be in Pontypool!  As yet not been able to find my Francis family who were suppose to own the Forge Hammer Inn, Pontypool.  Regards Pauline

Hi Pauline, Have just spotted your post. What a surprise after such a long gap.Hope you have success in your search.I checked on the 1871 census because I remembered that there were others listed at the Inn.But they are a Mary Morgan and a Sarah Rundill.
Cheers, Cyndy

Hi John,
I`m aways amazed when a message like yours turns up after such a long gap in my previous posts.
I don`t know my way around Wales too well I`m afraid. On the 1871 census my maternal great great grandparents are living/staying at The Forge Hammer Inn Pwlldu with three children. The reg. distict is Crickhowell, the parish is Llanelly.
From previous replies to my posts I believe that the inn has now been demolished.I`m not sure if we`re looking at the same place.
Thanks for getting in touch.
Cyndy
