Are you sure about the marriage, Adrian?

I can see a Julia Arnold age 27 born Feltwell, a servant (ladiesmaid) at Elsham, Lincolnshire ...
RG9/2399 50 1

Incidentally, in the same household, among many other servants, there is a James Woods, 32, Valet, b. Surrey Bend Fitcham

Hi Tati in the 1871 census Julia is shown in her parents household as Julia Woods aged 32, on free BMD i found a marriage for Julia Arnold and James Woods March 1860 Pancras 1b 133.

Do you think it is possible that they married without the knowledge of their employers? Ihave not looked for James Woods in the 1871 census yet, but he was not with Julia on census night in 1871.

Well, they might be the ones ...

James gives his birthplace as Bookham on every census, but I can't see one born Bookham in 1861 ...

But ... I can also see in 1871:
RG10/166 64 2
St Marylebone
4 Brown Street

James Woods, head, 41, Cabman, b. Surrey Bookham
Julia, wife, 38, Dressmaker, b. Suffolk Feltwell

Wonder if Julia was enumerated twice?

Hi Tati i think you have got it right with Julia being enumerated twice, it's is too much of a coincidence that there are 2 Julia Woods from Feltwell married to James, also Julia's mother was a dressmaker.

Thanks Tati for taking the time and trouble to help me.

             Best wishes Adrian
