Hi. I have searched ancestry and used the "boxes" to fill in the details and then clicked search. The results are always the same ie I can not find the person that I am looking for yet when I scroll down the page and do a search using the exact dates I can find them. Am I doing something wrong? Could someone have a go using their own birth and and see what happens?

Hmm. Not sure many of us will have our births indexed (=searchable)

Don't think so.
But perhaps you are pre-1915, Newfy?

Hello again. Here is the site that I was using.
http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx
Still waiting for someone to use it and tell me what they think.

Which part were you using? The first part is not searchable by name (or let's say only by name
within a given year/quarter
), the second part is the (searchable) FreeBMD database.

Hello Tati. I use the the first one. Complete BMD indexes range and images 1837--1893. Births. First name - last name, quarter, and year. Is this the wrong one ?
