1891 Lookup - VELLIS/VALLIS/VILLIS

On the 1901 there is a Elizabeth VELLIS b ~1883 in Mountain Ash, listed as per RG13/4989 F/108 P/12.

Can I please request a lookup to try and find her and her family in a household - head of which may may be either a George Villis b ~1857 or a William Vellis/Vallis b~1862

In the 1901 census there is a Villis family in Sully (near Penarth where Elizabeth was in 1901).  This family was headed by a George Villis (wife Mary A Villis)and the majority of the children were born in Mountain Ash making it likely that Elizabeth was a child of that family. 

I've not managed to find that family in the 1891 census.  I did find a George and Mary A Valles whose ages area close match but whose birthplaces don't match with the 1901.  They have a daughter Elizabeth A but she was only 2 years old so it would seem to not be the same family.  However I did find  a Lizzie Ann Villias born in Mountain Ash circa 1883 as a visitor in the household of an Isaac Jones in Aberdare.

Had one more try (seeing as I can't sleep anyway) and found George and family in 1891 indexed as Veller but reads (to me) Villes on the image.  Living in Mountain Ash.  No Elizabeth BUT there was an Isaac Jones visiting  in the household.   Remembering that I found an Elizabeth Villias visiting in the household of an Isaac Jones  I would guess that the Isaac Jones in the George Villis household was the grandfather of Elizabeth (father in law of George) and on census night she was staying with her Uncle (mothers brother) who was named after his father. 

Obviously you need to confirm things but I would say that this is almost certainly the family of the Elizabeth Vellis you located in the 1901 census.

I'm too tired to transcribe the records tonight - but if you don't have access to the 1891 census let me know and I'll do so for you another time.

Slight spoke in the wheel of my theory as George Villis appear to have married a Mary Ann Watkins in Cardiff in 1882.  So it would seem unlikey that the visitor Issac Jones was her father.  However I still think its likely that the child listed in 1981 as Lizzie Ann Villias was the same person as the Elizabeth Villis in the 1901 census.  Also there is birth reference for an Ellizabeth Ann Villias on Free bmd in 1883 (one year after the 1882 marriage of George Villis).
