Hello,
I am looking for a Samuel Harris born in Brightwell who married Sarah Day.  His children included 'Rita, and my grandfather William Samuel Theodore.

Also looking for the Coster family from Ramsbury

not a lot to go on I'm afraid.

Ok - I have found him - he married Sarah Day in Sept qtr 1902 in Hungerford reg dist.  Full name Samuel Alfred Harris (a middle name really helps with a common surname)

His birth was registered Sept qtr 1877 in Wantage reg dist

both of these from Free BMD - I will try and find him in some census's

Ok - in 1881 he was with his family in Wantage at Postway Place

By 1891 the family are still in Wantage - Back Street

and have added children Bertie (born 1882) Cordelia (born 1884) and Rowland (born 1886).  John the eldest son seems to have left home.  All the birth places except for John (the father) are now given as Wantage.

I have now found John H Harris (Samuel's father) in 1851 & 1871

In 1871 he is in Grove (nr Wantage) as an unmarried lodger - no other obvious family members.

but in 1851 he is in Grove with family - at the Bay Tree Inn
